My dear students!

Thank you so much for your commitment to learning the guitar.
I was just informed that I broke the record for a single pay period at SHMA this last two weeks. Your efforts are helping me to maintain my life and help my family in a way I have never been able to achieve. I left the road in order to be near my family. I wanted to continue with music as my main focus, but this town is not the place that one moves to in order to make a living as a musician.

Teaching at SHMA is also the fulfillment of a dream I had back in the 70s when I first was introduced to the place by my parents. A dream that grew in my early twenties as some of my local heroes were here teaching and running the place. I would look at all of the pictures of the teachers in the catalog and see my face there. I would chide myself as a dreamer and continue on my path.......many years later I thought it beneath my station to be at this level. I was traveling the world with one the the best bands in the history of music....I was at the top.
My family life and personal life suffered so much to reach that place however. Finally I realized that I had to switch gears and I found myself scrubbing the toilets and patching holes in the roof of SHMA long before I played a note in the place. Now, slowly slowly,I have risen thru the ranks to become one of the best here at this fine institution.

I just wanna thank you for lettin me be mice elf again!

Way to go Citrus! Your love of music and of sharing that gift of music with your students is what makes you such an excellent guitar Sifu. Keep up the good work.

Congratulations!.  I know a bunch of people who can play the guitar, but it takes different skills to be a great teacher.  You've got it, and there's your proof!
